Everton forward Romelu Lukaku has found the back of the net on 16 occasions this season.

Paul Ince has told BT Sport’s Premier League Tonight Show, which was broadcast on 4th February, that he doesn’t believe Everton striker Romelu Lukaku gets as much praise as he deserves.

Lukaku currently tops the Premier League’s scoring charts, after bagging four goals in Everton’s 6-3 victory over Bournemouth on Saturday.

And Ince feels that the Belgian international deserves more credit for his goalscoring form than he has been getting.

The former Manchester United man said: “He doesn’t get as much credit as he should do. He’s the top goalscorer in the Premier League now, and he’s still only young.”

Lukaku’s four goal haul against Bournemouth means that he has now netted 16 times in 23 Premier League matches this season.

The 23-year-old has scored over 10 goals in the Premier League in each of the last five campaigns, yet he still has had to take on a fair bit of criticism.

Lukaku is picked upon for lacking work rate, but there can be no doubting his finishing ability.

Lukaku’s red hot form has helped Everton take more points than any other Premier League club over the last six matches, and climb into seventh place in the table.

The Toffees are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium.
