Leeds United are reportedly interested in snapping up Middlesbrough forward Ashley Fletcher.

Paul Heckingbottom admitted back in October that he would have loved to have signed Ashley Fletcher for Barnsley, and now he reportedly wants the striker at Leeds United.
Speaking just six months ago to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Heckingbottom explained how he wanted to sign Fletcher last summer for Barnsley.
He said: “I would have loved to sign Ashley. But we would have needed massive help from West Ham to get him on loan.

“He actually phoned me and said, “Boro have just bid £7m for me’ and he was still, like, ‘What do I do?’ I said, ‘Get yourself there.’
“That is what we are competing against. We would have loved to have had Fletch back here and I know he would have loved to have come.”
Heckingbottom and Fletcher worked together at Barnsley two seasons ago, when the Tykes were promoted from League One.

The striker’s career since has stalled, with his most recent loan spell at Sunderland being nothing short of a disaster.
Fletcher has failed to look at all impressive at the Stadium of Light, but Heckingbottom is still seemingly convinced that the striker does have a future at Championship level.
And Leeds fans will be hoping the Heckingbottom can get the best out of the Middlesbrough man once again, if he does arrive at Elland Road this summer.
