Leeds United would have to have big funds available to them to stand a chance of signing Oliver McBurnie from Swansea City.

Paul Heckingbottom’s latest comments about Leeds United having a ‘mid-table budget’ surely make it impossible for them to land Oliver McBurnie from Swansea City.
The transfer links have caused excitement around Elland Road, as McBurnie has been in fine form this season.
The powerful forward has netted six goals in nine appearances while on loan at Barnsley.

However, his impressive form means that if Swansea do put him up for sale, then they will surely be able to command a big fee.
A 21-year-old scoring prolifically in the Championship is likely to be a costly target, and Heckingbottom’s comments hardly suggest that Leeds have masses to spend.
He said to BBC Radio Leeds: “As people they have been good and the response has been good. We are going to have to do a lot of things better next season if we are going to try and get in that top six especially if we are going to have a mid-table budget.”

McBurnie looked like an ambitious target before Heckingbottom’s comments, but a deal now seems to be impossible.
Leeds will still be looking for a striker in the summer, but it appears likely that a far cheaper option than McBurnie will be targeted.
