Kemar Roofe has missed Leeds United’s last two games.

Speaking to a press conference and quoted by Leeds Live, Paul Heckingbottom is confident that Leeds United attacker Kemar Roofe will be back “sooner rather than later” but was unable to offer a prognosis.
The 25-year-old has missed Leeds’ last two games with a calf injury which was sustained in the 2-2 draw at Derby County on February 21.
The former Oxford United man, a £3 million signing in the summer of 2016, had shown promising signs of improvement under Heckingbottom and scored in the draw at Bristol City prior to his injury.

United are eight points and six places adrift of the playoff places in 12th, and Leeds could do with an attacker of Roofe’s talents during the final few months of the Championship season.
But although Heckingbottom is none the wiser over long he’ll be out, the 40-year-old says that he is progressing well nonetheless.
“It’s still his calf, muscles problems. I wouldn’t like to guess [on how long he’ll be out]. He’s not running yet,” he told a press conference via Leeds Live when asked about Roofe.

“He’s progressing slowly, bit by bit. And so long as there’s not setbacks he’ll be back sooner rather than later.”
It’s been a very up and down season for the Garry Monk signing, but he still has 12 goals in all competitions – including two hat-tricks – so he definitely has something to offer Leeds when he gets back.
