Leeds United head coach Paul Heckingbottom has revealed to Leeds Live that he has spoken to Tom Pearce about his performance against Norwich City at the weekend.

Pearce featured for Leeds in the Championship game against Norwich away from home at Carrow Road on Saturday afternoon.

The 20-year-old left-back started the match and played for 83 minutes, as the West Yorkshire outfit lost 2-1.

While commenting on Leeds goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell’s performance, Heckingbottom told Leeds Live: “Yes, a couple of good ones. Down our left, that’s where it was coming in the second half. That’s where I was trying to scream.

“I’ve spoke to Tom about, that’s what he’ll learn from this game. He needs to learn from this game because that’s where their momentum was coming.”

Needs to learn

Pearce has only just broken into the Leeds first team, and his performances overall have been quite encouraging.

While it is true that the 20-year-old left-back was not at his best on Saturday afternoon, the Elland Road faithful should be optimistic about him getting better and better with more playing time.

One should not be surprised if Pearce establishes himself as a first-team regular for Leeds in the coming years.
