Leeds United are already closing in on additions for the summer, according to Paul Heckingbottom.
Leeds’ failure to mount a sustained push for promotion has awoken the Elland Road crowd to how much change needs to happen for them to become a play off contender next season.
And Heckingbottom has insisted that plans are already well underway to make Leeds more competitive next term.
“They’ll be some changes in the summer which will work really well for us,” Heckingbottom said. “We’re down the line. The focus at the minute is these games, but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t work going on all the time based on signings and generating names that we want.”
There are some doubts over whether Heckingbottom will remain in charge next term, as he has endured a poor spell in charge of the Whites so far.
Leeds have won just two matches under Heckingbottom’s stewardship, and they have slipped from the outskirts of the play offs down into 14th place.
Leeds have already been linked with a host of new players ahead of the transfer window.
The Whites are said to be interested in the likes of Oli McBurnie, Tom Bradshaw and Andy Yiadom, with big changes expected to be made at Elland Road.
