Glasgow Rangers winger Glenn Middleton will leave Ibrox and join Hibernian on loan, says Paul Heckingbottom.
Glenn Middleton of Rangers
Rangers winger Middleton will join Scottish Premiership rivals Hibernian on a loan deal in the summer transfer window, according to The Daily Record.
Hibs boss Heckingbottom has suggested that the 19-year-old Scotland Under-21 international winger will join his side after the Scottish Premiership game against Rangers at Ibrox on Sunday afternoon.
The former Leeds United head coach has suggested that this is being done this way so that there is no awkwardness regarding this weekend’s fixture between the two teams.
Heckingbottom told The Daily Record about signing Middleton: “Both sides are relaxed about it. We just don’t want to put him in a poor position before the game on Sunday, so we’ll wait and see what happens next week.
“We’re speaking about a loan deal. He’s got pace, good one v one, an enthusiasm and he’s certainly got attributes that would help us.”

Good move for Glenn Middleton?
Middleton is a very good and promising young winger who needs regular playing time in a competitive environment at this stage of his career to improve and progress.
With competition for places in the Rangers team fierce, it would make sense for the former Norwich City prospect to join Hibernian on a season-long loan deal.
