Leeds United badly need to start attempting to buy tried and tested players in the Championship.

According to a report in The Sun (18/3 page 60), Leeds United are eyeing up a triple swoop for Oliver McBurnie, Joe Williams and defender Andy Yiadom.

Paul Heckingbottom worked with the trio at Barnsley, and has reportedly tipped Leeds off about signing the three players.

Heckingbottom feels that McBurnie, Williams and Yiadom would all improve his options at Elland Road.

And if Leeds were able to complete the triple deal, it would be the exact transfer which they need.

Leeds have had a seriously mixed record in the transfer window recently, with many of their additions failing to make much of an impact at Elland Road.

Leeds have tended to buy from the continent, with many of their additions completely unproven in English football.

McBurnie, Williams and Yiadom all have shown their class in the Championship though.

Although Barnsley are fighting a relegation battle, the trio have stood out this term.

McBurnie, who is on loan from Swansea City, has scored with great frequency, Yiadom has looked solid at the back, and Williams, who is contracted to Everton, has been one of the Tykes’ most creative options.

And if Leeds could bring in all three players, it would be a great start to their summer business.
