Revisiting new Leeds United manager’s comments on Luke Ayling.

Paul Heckingbottom is the new manager of Leeds United, and his previous comments on hating the club as a youngster have come under scrutiny.
One Leeds player he may have reservations over is one he branded ‘appalling’ earlier this season over an alleged dive.
Heckingbottom hit out at defender Luke Ayling after the match between the two teams earlier this season.

He raged, speaking to the Yorkshire Post: “It is appalling that he got booked for a kid trying to win a penalty.
“An appalling dive, I don’t have to see it back to know that.”
Leeds won the game at Oakwell 2-0 through goals from Samu Saiz and Ezgjan Alioski.

Luke Ayling will have a clean slate under Paul Heckingbottom, but he will not be in action for a little while.
He is currently out injured and may not return this season.
His absence has been a big blow for Leeds over the past few weeks, the Whites have not won a game without him.
Heckingbottom’s comment highlight the passion he has for his side, and Leeds could benefit from that with him in their dugout.
One thing he won’t stand for, is diving.
