Paul Gascoigne has issued an update to Tottenham Hotspur supporters over his hopes of playing at the new stadium.

Gazza appealed this week on Twitter for the club to invite him to the legends game against Inter Milan on March 30.

In addition to an under-18s match, the match is one of two test events required ahead of the official opening.

Gascoigne’s message prompted vociferous calls from Spurs fans backing his plea to be involved.

Now he has confirmed he has been in touch with Gary Mabbutt, who is involved with co-ordinating the event.

Ex-star Graham Roberts responded to his message.

It seems more and more likely that Spurs fans will get to see the icon in action.

As many as 45,000 fans are expected to attend, with Jurgen Klinsmann among the high profile names set to feature.
