England passed their first World Cup test with flying colours on Wednesday.

The Three Lions beat Croatia 4-2 to kick off their World Cup conquest, and there were a few standout performers in the game.

Harry Kane grabbed two goals and won Man of the Match, Jude Bellingham was excellent in an advanced role, while Noni Madueke looked electric at times down the wing.

Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford came off the bench to score in what was a bright cameo.

Speaking to Clutch9, Paul Gascoigne has been reviewing England’s win, and he says that he’s particularly pleased for Rashford after this game.

How many points are England going to finish the group with after that win vs Croatia?

Who is most likely to join us if we get through?

Paul Gascoigne message to Marcus Rashford

Gazza spoke about England’s win against Croatia.

The legendary midfielder sent his congratulations to Thomas Tuchel’s side, singling out Rashford as a player he was particularly happy for, saying he deserved his goal.

“Congratulations, four goals. Really pleased for Rashford. He deserved it,” Gascoigne said.

“But hey, good luck. And what I will say is I did enjoy it. You’ve got a great start to the tournament. May it continue and just enjoy yourselves. But well done, four goals is incredible, congratulations, lots of love from Gazza.”

Rashford certainly does deserve praise for his performance here, he was brilliant off the bench, and he moved up the England World Cup scoring charts.

Indeed, only three players have now scored more World Cup goals than Rashford – Gary Lineker, Harry Kane and Geoff Hurst.

Rashford is a player who can divide opinion, but it has to be said he has stood up to be counted in some big moments for England – even if it hasn’t always gone to plan.

Rashford will have a key part to play if England are to win the World Cup, that’s for sure.
