Newcastle’s record signing scored his first goal at the weekend.

Newcastle United record signing Joelinton showed what he was all about as the team registered their first win of the season last weekend.
Joelinton scored Newcastle’s winner away at Tottenham, and impressed with a hard working performance.
The former Hoffenheim forward has also caught the eye of former Newcastle fan favourite Paul Gascoigne.
In an interview with The Chronicle, Gascoigne picked Joelinton out for praise. He even said Newcastle might face a challenge to keep him.
He said: “The club have spent a lot on that centre-forward, Joelinton. I think he looks very impressive actually and they may have a problem keeping hold of him eventually.
“He’s a very good player, by the way – put him on a massive contract.”

Newcastle have already put Joelinton onto a lengthy contract, The Guardian reported he has signed a six-year deal.
Newcastle can always try and offer him improved terms, if he earns it.
The real challenge for Newcastle is to ensure they do not suffer relegation. If they do, then Joelinton might start considering his options.
Otherwise, the club should be confident they are in control with regard to his future. After his display at the weekend, that’s very good news.
