Florian Lejeune is one of just a handful of signings made by Newcastle United during this window so far.

Paul Dummett has suggested that the entire Newcastle squad would agree that Florian Lejeune has settled in brilliantly since his summer switch, before outlining exactly what attributes he expects the Frenchman to bring to the side, the Shields Gazette reports.

It has been a frustratingly quiet window for the Magpies so far, with Lejeune proving to be one of a small handful of signings made ahead of their return to the Premier League.

The 26-year-old cost Newcastle £8.8 million, the Shields Gazette reports, and Dummett has suggested that the early signs hint that he will prove to be a very good signing for Rafa Benitez’s men as they continue their preparations for their top flight return.

“The lads will all agree with me that since the first day of training he’s fitted straight in,” he said, as reported by the Shields Gazette.

“He’s comfortable on the ball, and he’s a big unit and strong as well.

“He’s also good in the air. He has a lot of attributes he can bring to our team, and he can bring a lot of competition.”

Lejeune’s experience in the top flight is fairly limited, but there is no question that he enjoyed a very impressive year with Eibar last term.

He helped the side register the highest finish in their history, making 34 appearances as they secured 10th spot in La Liga, and Benitez will be hoping that he can now transfer that form following his switch to St James’ Park.

And based on Dummett’s assessment of the days following his arrival, it appears that he could give the Toon Army plenty to be positive about during the coming season.
