Paul Dummett has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to Newcastle United signing Mark Gillespie, and so have some fans of the Premier League club.
As announced on Newcastle’s official website, the Magpies have secured the services of Gillespie on a free transfer.
The 28-year-old goalkeeper has moved to Newcastle on a free transfer and has signed a three-year contract.
The Englishman was actually at the academy of Newcastle before joining Carlisle United in 2008 when he was 16 years of age.
Gillespie had a very good and successful time at Carlisle before he moved to Walsall and then to Motherwell.
The 28-year-old will be looking to compete with Martin Dubravka and Karl Darlow in the team, and is essentially a replacement for Rob Elliot, who left the Magpies at the end of last month when his contract ran out.
Some Newcastle fans have given their reaction to the signing of Gillespie on Twitter, and so has 28-year-old Welshman Dummett, who can operate as a left-back or as a centre-back and has been on the books of the Magpies his entire professional club football career so far.
