Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic will face Manchester City in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.

Paul Dickov has suggested to The Glasgow Evening Times that Celtic could struggle against Manchester City this week.

Scottish Premiership side Celtic will take on Premier League outfit City away from home at the Etihad Stadium in Champions League Group C on Tuesday evening.

Dickov, who is 44 years of age, believes that the Bhoys could find it tough against his former club as they will not have home advantage.

“I think it’ll be difficult for Celtic with that advantage taken away, and because City have shown that on their day they can beat anyone,” the former City striker told The Glasgow Evening Times. “They beat Barcelona after all.”

Celtic have already been knocked out of the Champions League, and the match against City for them is largely academic for them.

Brendan Rodgers’s side, though, will be aiming to bow out of Europe’s premier club competition on a high.

The Glasgow giants played out a 3-3 draw with City at Celtic Park in the Champions League in September.

Winning against Pep Guardiola’s side at the Etihad Stadium may not be possible for the Hoops, but Celtic will certainly fancy picking up a point from the encounter.

City will head into Tuesday evening’s match on the back of a 3-1 defeat to Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League.
