Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United lost against Wigan Athletic at Elland Road on Friday.

Leeds United fans were in full voice on Friday afternoon when Marcelo Bielsa’s side took on Wigan Athletic at Elland Road.
The West Yorkshire outfit headed into the Championship game as favourites, and they also took an early lead.
However, Wigan, who played most of the match with 10 men, staged a comeback and won 2-1.
Although Leeds launched attacks after attacks, they struggled with their accuracy, and one could argue that the Latics deserved to pick up all three points from the encounter.
After the match, Wigan manager Paul Cook was asked by Leeds Live if the atmosphere at Elland Road worked out for him.
This was Cook’s response with a laugh, as quoted in Leeds Live: “You obviously weren’t sitting where we were!”

Promotion push
The defeat to Wigan means that Leeds are third in the Championship table at the moment with 82 points from 43 matches.
The Whites are level on points with second-placed and Yorkshire rivals Sheffield United, and it is imperative that Bielsa’s side win their final three league fixtures.
Leeds will return to action on Monday evening when they take on Brentford away from home in the Championship.
