Swansea City are reportedly close to signing Manchester City striker Wilfried Bony.
According to BBC, Swansea City are “close to securing” the signing of striker Wilfried Bony from Manchester City before the transfer window closes.
The report claims that “no fee has been agreed” yet, but talks are being held between the two clubs and may continue into next week. The report runs:
“No fee has been agreed as yet and talks may continue into next week but it is anticipated Bony will return to south Wales for less than half that sum.”
Bony joined Swansea City from Vitesse and became an instant hit at the club. In his first season, he scored 17 goals in the Premier League, and nine in 20 games before moving to Manchester City in the 2015 January transfer window.
City paid £25 million for the Ivory Coast forward, as reported by BBC, but are ready to sell him for half that price. Bony was loaned to Stoke by manager Pep Guardiola last season where he endured another frustrating spell.
Paul Clement has money to spend following Gylfi Sigurdsson’s £45 million transfer to Everton, and wants to use the money to bolster his attacking department.
The 28-year-old, who has 51-international caps under his belt, probably needs a change of scenario and a less pressured environment to regain his old form.
He is still a very good striker and if he can regain his old form for the Swans, Clement would pull off a superb signing at around £10-£12 million.
