Glasgow Rangers have been heavily linked with making a move for the Arsenal youngster.
Jon Toral’s former Birmingham City teammate Paul Caddis has backed the 21-year-old to be a potential difference-maker in the battle for second place in the Scottish Premiership should he complete a loan switch to Rangers, The Scottish Sun reports.
A report in The Scottish Sun has suggested that Toral is on the verge of completing a move to Ibrox and linking up with Mark Warburton for the second time in his career having previously worked with the attacking midfielder when he was on loan at Brentford.

Following his time at Griffin Park, he moved to their Championship rivals Birmingham, where he played alongside Caddis. And during his time at St Andrew’s, he proved to be a major success, and the defender – who knows what it is like to play for an Old Firm club, having started his career at Celtic – is confident that he can be just as influential for the Gers.
“They have a battle on their hands at the moment with Hearts and Aberdeen doing well too,” he said, as reported by The Scottish Sun.
“But someone like Jon could certainly swing it in Rangers’ favour.
“He’ll bring so much quality — and he might prove the difference at the end of the season.
“Jon is a matchwinner. We relied on him so much, but to be fair he produced.”
Toral showed during his time with the Blues that he was capable of scoring goals as well as creating plenty more for his teammates.
And with Rangers going into the winter break as the lowest scorers in the top four by some distance, his creativity could be hugely beneficial to Warburton’s squad as he is bound to create chances for the Gers’ strikers.
