Viktoria Plzen midfielder Patrik Hrosovsky has told SME in Slovakia that it would be a dream to play in the Premier League – but isn’t sure if a move to West Ham United will actually happen.

The Hammers haven’t been too busy in the transfer window so far, but Manuel Pellegrini’s side may come through with some targets in the final days of the winter market.

Another midfielder may be wanted, given that Jack Wilshere and Carlos Sanchez are both injured, leaving Pellegrini with a lack of real depth in the middle of the park.

Last week, Spanish newspaper AS intriguingly reported that West Ham were in talks about a deal to sign Viktoria Plzen ace Hrosovsky in a £4million deal.

Hrosovsky, 26, has impressed for Plzen this season and even scored against Real Madrid in the Champions League, sparking interest in his signature.

The initial report noted that Stuttgart are ready to rival West Ham for Hrosovsky, who has 22 caps for Slovakia and impressed in the Czech Republic with his passing range.

Now, Hrosovsky has revealed that he would love a move to the Premier League as he never thought he would reach such heights in his career – but added that if people want to know specifics about a move to West Ham, then he will disappoint them by saying that he only knows what has been written in the newspapers about a move.

Patrik Hrosovsky of Viktoria Plzen looks on during the Group G match of the UEFA Champions League between Real Madrid and Viktoria Plzen at Bernabeu on October 23, 2018 in Madrid, Spain.

“If I got to the Premier League, it would be a dream come true,” said Hrosovsky. “It’s one of the best leagues in the world, and I never thought I could make it so high. But if you want details about West Ham, I’m gonna disappoint you. Of course, I’m in touch with the manager, but basically I know only what is written in the newspapers,” he added.

An intriguing line is that he is ‘in touch with the manager’; this could be West Ham boss Pellegrini about moving, keeping Plzen manager Pavel Vrba up to date or even just another term for his agent.

It seems that if West Ham want Hrosovsky, then he would love a move to East London, but whether a deal materialises before Thursday’s deadline or not remains to be seen.
