Sol Campbell and Rodney Marsh have taken to social media to give their reaction to the appointment of Patrick Vieira as the new Crystal Palace manager.
What’s the story?
Palace have announced on their official website that they have hired Arsenal legend Vieira as the new manager.
The former Arsenal midfielder has been handed a three-year contract.
Vieira has replaced Roy Hodgson, who left his managerial role at Selhurst Park at the end of last season.
Messages of support
Sol Campbell, former teammate of Vieira at Arsenal, has wished him the best of luck on Instagram.
Former Fulham and Queens Park Rangers forward Marsh has given his take on Twitter on the appointment.
Interesting times ahead
Vieira is a legendary player, but as a manager, the Frenchman has not really done an awful lot.
The 45-year-old has managed New York City in the USA and Nice in France.
Palace are an established club in the Premier League, and the fans want to see good football and the players to work hard.

The Palace hierarchy will not expect the team to start challenging for the European places, but Vieira will be expected to do at least better than what Hodgson did in recent seasons.
