Celtic are reportedly targeting Astana striker Patrick Twumasi – who can’t stop scoring in the Europa League.

Another European outing, another European goal for FC Astana striker Patrick Twumasi.
The Ghanaian’s strike in Thursday’s 3-2 home defeat to Villarreal took his tally to four goals in five Europa League appearances so far in 2017/18 – a tally bettered only by Zenit’s Aleksandr Kokorin, Zenit’s Emiliano Rigoni and AC Milan’s Portuguese poacher Andre Silva.
And with Brendan Rodgers aiming to improve Celtic’s performances on the European front, it should be little surprise that The Hoops are plotting a January move for Twumasi, according to Ghana Sports Online.

The 23-year-old netted twice in Astana’s 4-3 Champions League second-leg qualifying victory against Celtic in August and has maintained his excellent form in continental competition ever since.
While Celtic have been found wanting in the Champions League this season, conceding 12 times against Paris Saint-Germain and a further five times against Bayern Munich, Rodgers’ set the aim for his side to remain in Europe after Christmas.

And that will all come down to the final group stage clash against Anderlecht next month. The Belgian champions, who have lost all five of their fixtures so far, will need to beat Celtic by a four-goal margin to qualify ahead of The Hoops for the Europa League.
And who better to give Celtic the chance to really kick-on and improve their recent poor European form than a player who has thrived on the continent this season.
