Patrick Roberts joined Celtic on a season-long loan deal from Manchester City in the summer transfer window.

Celtic winger Patrick Roberts has suggested to The Scottish Sun that he does not regret joining the club in the summer transfer window.

Roberts returned to Celtic for a second spell on loan from Manchester City in the summer of 2017.

The 20-year-old winger is hugely popular among the Celtic Park faithful and was very successful during his initial 18-month loan spell at the Bhoys.

Playing in the Scottish Premiership, though, seems to have cost Roberts a place in the recent England Under-21 squad.

New York City youngster Jack Harrison was picked instead of the City-owned star by England Under-21 manager Aidy Boothroyd.

According to The Scottish Sun, Southampton, Nice and Girona all were interested in signing Roberts in the summer transfer window.

The former Fulham youngster, though, has made it clear that he does not regret his decision to join Celtic on a season-long loan deal from City in the summer of 2017.

“I made that decision and I stand by it,” Roberts told The Scottish Sun. “I’ll keep playing my football, keep enjoying my football and keep playing well.”
