Patrick Roberts is currently on loan at Celtic from Manchester City.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has suggested to The Scottish Sun that he wants to keep Patrick Roberts for the 2017-18 season.
Roberts joined Scottish Premiership giants Celtic on loan from Premier League outfit Manchester City in February 2016.
The 19-year-old winger, who has done well for the Bhoys so far, is scheduled to return to his parent club City at the end of the season.
Celtic manager Rodgers has suggested that he wants the youngster to remain at Celtic Park for the 2017-18 campaign.

“I want to work with talented players but it’s about what City see as the next stage of Patrick’s development,” Rodgers told The Scottish Sun.
“I have only been in for the last six months of his time here but I think it has been a fruitful period.
“He seems to be really enjoying his time here and has grown really close with the squad. There will be dialogue between now and the summer in terms of where he is at.”

Roberts is playing well at the moment and has established himself as an important player in Rodgers’s team.
The former Fulham teenage winger would be wise to remain at Celtic for the 2017-18 campaign if he gets the chance.
A return to City would allow the youngster to work with manager Pep Guardiola, but would he get as much playing time as he is getting at the Bhoys at the moment?
For Roberts to continue his progress and development, he needs to play regularly, and staying at Celtic next season would allow him to do that.
