Celtic reportedly wanted to sign Jadon Sancho before he left Manchester City for Borussia Dortmund in the summer transfer window.

Roberts played with Sancho at City and seems to rate the England Under-17 international highly.
The 17-year-old forward joined German club Borussia Dortmund in the summer transfer window after leaving the Citizens.
Scottish Premiership giants Celtic were interested in signing the teenager before his switch to Bundesliga outfit Dortmund in the summer of 2017, according to The Daily Star.

Meanwhile, 20-year-old winger Roberts returned to Celtic on a season-long loan from City.
Roberts, who had spent the previous 18 months on loan at Celtic Park from the Citizens, has predicted that Sancho will be a success in the coming seasons.
“I don’t know if I will speak to Jadon, he was in India with England Under-17s last week,” Roberts told The Scottish Sun.
“But he is a top player. He made the decision to go to Dortmund which a lot of people might have thought was surprising.
“But Dortmund is a massive team, and Jadon is a top player. I’m sure we will be seeing his name a lot in seasons to come.”

Sancho is a very talented and promising young forward, and playing at a club like Dortmund is only going to help him grow and develop.
Who knows, perhaps Celtic could make a move for the teenager next summer or in a few years’ time…
