Patrick Roberts is currently on loan at Celtic from Manchester City.
Celtic winger Patrick Roberts has suggested to The Scottish Sun that he could play for the club next season.
Roberts joined Scottish Premiership giants Celtic on loan from Premier League powerhouse Manchester City in February 2016.
The 20-year-old winger’s loan spell at Celtic Park is scheduled to end in the summer of 2017.
The former Fulham youngster has suggested that he could remain at Celtic for the 2017-18 campaign.
“I honestly don’t know what’s going to happen,” Roberts told The Scottish Sun regarding his future. “Everything is an option to me. Football is crazy, we will see when it gets down to it.
“I have enjoyed every minute of playing on the pitch here. You never say never but I will get to that when I get to it. I just have to think about the games we have ahead now.”
“Celtic have been brilliant with me,” added the youngster. “If any young player asks me about coming here then I’d tell them it’s a no-brainer.
“It’s a massive club with huge expectation and when you get the wins it’s better than you can ever expect.”
Roberts is a very talented and promising young winger, and his improvement while playing under Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is there for everyone to see.
According to Celtic’s official website, the England Under-20 international has scored 12 goals in 49 appearances in all competitions for the Bhoys.
Given that City paid Fulham as much as £12 million in the summer of 2015 to sign Roberts, as reported by The Glasgow Evening Times, the Citizens are not going to sell him on the cheap.
Celtic are unlikely to pay £12m for a 20-year-old, but a loan deal will be perfect for both parties.
