Patrick Roberts hints he could make Celtic return

West Ham United and Leicester City have been linked with Patrick Roberts, who is returning to Manchester City after a loan spell at Celtic.

Reported West Ham United and Leicester City target and Manchester City winger Patrick Roberts has suggested to The Scottish Sun that he could return to Celtic in the future.

The 21-year-old winger joined Celtic on loan from Premier League side City in January 2016 until the summer of 2017 before returning to the Scottish Premiership outfit on yet another loan deal for the 2017-18 campaign.

According to The Express, Premier League duo West Ham and Leicester are interested in securing the services of the former Fulham youngster, who is claimed to be rated at £15 million.

Roberts has hinted that he could return to Celtic in the future, although perhaps not for the 2018-19 campaign.

The former England Under-20 international told The Scottish Sun: “Would I ever return again? I’ve always said you never know what might happen in football. It’s never goodbye.

“I’ll always be a fan and will always come to games, even if I’m not playing here. I could end up back here in a few years and, if so, then great.”

Premier League adventure or Celtic return?

Roberts has been a success at Celtic and has shown his quality in the Scottish Premiership, but maybe it is time for him to test himself in the Premier League.

While it would be hard for the 21-year-old to break into the City team, perhaps he should take up the challenge of playing for Leicester or West Ham.

True, the youngster is unlikely to win any major honours with the Foxes or the Hammers like he has been doing with Celtic, but the Premier League is one of the biggest and most watched domestic football leagues in the world.
