Manchester City-owned Patrick Roberts defends his Celtic teammate Scott Sinclair following the late chance against Motherwell.

Sinclair missed a good chance late on to score for Celtic against Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday afternoon.
The former Aston Villa winger should have probably passed the ball to his teammate Roberts, currently on loan at the Hoops from City and earns £1.3 million per year as salary according to Spotrac.com, but the 28-year-old decided to go all alone.
Roberts, 21, has defended Sinclair, who joined Celtic from Villa in the summer of 2016 for a transfer fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £3 million.

The youngster told The Scottish Sun: “I think in his mind Scott thought he could score and if I was in the same situation I’d have gone for goal as well.
“I think the defender’s impeded him a little bit, but if he squares it I’ve got a tap-in. But, like I say, I’d have taken the shot if I was through on goal.”

Disappointing performance
Celtic’s performance against Motherwell at the weekend was disappointing, and Sinclair was not exactly great.
The former Chelsea and Manchester City winger has not been in great form for the Hoops so far this season, and fans have criticised him on Twitter, as reported by HITC Sport.
