There has been plenty of debate surrounding where Celtic would finish in the English Premier League.
Patrick Roberts has told the Scottish Sun that Celtic would finish in the top six of the English Premier League, if they were to stop playing north of the border and move south.
The debate surrounding Celtic’s performance in the Premier League, if they were to ever participate in England’s top tier, has seen pundits differ on many an occasion as the Hoops continue to steamroll their Scottish Premiership opponents.
Celtic now remain unbeaten in Scottish domestic football for a record-breaking 63 matches, and it is that kind of tally that leads to many suggesting that they are wasted in Scotland.
Manchester City loanee Roberts, 20, claimed that he is 100 per cent adamant that Celtic would finish in top six of the Premier League due to the amount of money being earned south of the divide.
“100 per cent,” Roberts said, when asked if Celtic would finish in the Premier league’s top six. “It’s ifs and buts because Celtic aren’t there.
“But with the money down south, and the size of this club, we’d definitely be able to mix with the big boys.”
England Under-20 international Roberts has re-started life in Glasgow with aplomb, scoring once and adding another three goals in assists during his 10 outings this season for the Hoops.
However, he has missed Celtic’s last two outings against Bayern Munich and St. Johnstone and it remains to be seen if he will be declared fit to face Ross County on November 18 after the international break.
