Brittany Mahomes has revealed how one simple piece of advice from her husband, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, helped her handle the pressures of sudden fame.

The couple, who have been together since high school, have faced intense public attention since Patrick’s rise to NFL superstardom, but Brittany says his words completely changed her mindset.

The Mahomes family is now one of the most recognizable in American sports, appearing in NFL coverage, major endorsements, and even Netflix’s Quarterback series.

But fame also brought scrutiny, especially for Brittany, who had to adjust to a level of attention she never expected. Patrick’s calm approach to pressure became her biggest source of strength.

Patrick Mahomes’ advice that changed Brittany’s mindset

Speaking in an interview on WHOOP podcast, Brittany said, “He is very good at blocking people out so having him beside has helped.

“The main thing he always told me is to stop caring what people think – especially the people that don’t even know you.”

Patrick’s message, shaped by his own experience handling NFL pressure, helped Brittany see fame differently. She explained that his ability to stay focused on what truly matters has taught her to ignore negativity and keep perspective.

For Patrick, who has led the Chiefs to multiple Super Bowl titles, blocking out noise is second nature, and it is something he encouraged Brittany to master as well.

In the early years of Patrick’s success, Brittany faced harsh online criticism. Over time, she learned to follow his advice, choosing to focus on family, positivity, and personal growth rather than public opinion.

Brittany further shared, “I think social media used to get to me a lot. Now, it’s just like, honestly, I don’t give a f___ what people have to say about me anymore.

“I am strong in who I am. I am confident in who I am. I am confident in mine and his relationship, and I am confident in our lives. So why does what other people say have to matter at all?” she concluded.

Brittany has built a successful career of her own, running a fitness and activewear brand while serving as co-owner of the Kansas City Current in the NWSL.

She often shares family moments with Patrick and their two children, Sterling and Bronze, showing a life focused on balance and authenticity.

Patrick’s advice has not only strengthened their relationship but also helped Brittany embrace who she is without apology.

From high school sweethearts to one of sports’ most recognized couples, the Mahomes family continues to grow together. For Brittany, Patrick’s words to stop caring about outside opinions remain the foundation of how she stays grounded amid it all.
