Norwich City, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Middlesbrough and Queens Park Rangers are listed as the four favourites to sign Chelsea’s Patrick Bamford.
According to the latest odds published by Sky Bet, Norwich City are the favourites to sign Chelsea forward Patrick Bamford before the January transfer window closes.
The former Nottingham Forest youngster spent the first half of the campaign on loan at Crystal Palace, but a lack of first-team opportunities prompted the forward to cancel his season-long deal early.
Bamford has plenty of ability, illustrated during two loan spells at Derby County and later Middlesbrough, as he notched 25 league goals combined for the two Championship sides.
With chances at Chelsea limited, Bamford has been heavily linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this month and a number of teams will be keen on bringing him in.
Skybet label fellow Premier League side Norwich City as his most likely destination should a move occur, with odds on a switch to Carrow Road currently standing at 13/8.
The Canaries currently find themselves five points above the drop zone, with their home form labelled as key in their bid to preserve their top-flight status come the end of the campaign.
Alex Neil’s side are competitive, but they suffer from a shortage of real quality upfront and the recent sale of Lewis Grabban to Bournemouth also leaves them short on options.
Bamford moving to Carrow Road could be a good short-term option for both club and player.
However, a number of Championship sides also represent decent possibilities with Wolves [5/1], Middlesbrough [6/1] and Queens Park Rangers [10/1] listed as the most likely by Sky Bet.
Wolves, following the sale of Benik Afobe to Bournemouth, are also short on options, while Boro may see Bamford as the man to help push them over the line in terms of promotion this season.
Queens Park Rangers are another option, and a fresh report in the Daily Mail claims that the Hoops are showing a real interest in the player as they seek to bolster their attack this month.
