Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham in the summer transfer window.

According to a recent report in The Daily Star, Newcastle United are interested in signing Tammy Abraham in the summer transfer window.
Abraham is returning to his parent club Chelsea after leaving Bristol City, where he was on loan for the 2016-17 season.
The England Under-21 forward has been hugely successful for City, scoring 23 goals and providing three assists in 41 league appearances.

While one can understand why Newcastle, who will play in the Premier League next season after winning automatic promotion from the Championship, are (reportedly) interested in Abraham, the Magpies need to wary of signing a 19-year-old who has played well in the second tier of English football for just one season.
Patrick Bamford was a massive success for Middlesbrough during the 2014-15 season. Now 23, the forward was on loan at Boro from Chelsea that campaign and scored 16 goals in 40 Championship matches.
Since then, the young forward has struggled. Premier League loan spells at Crystal Palace, Norwich City and Burnley have been bitterly disappointing, and Bamford has yet to score for Boro in the Premier League this season following his £6 million move (as reported by The Guardian) from Chelsea in the January transfer window.
It would not be wise to suggest that Abraham’s situation could prove to be similar. After all, the Chelsea youngster is only 19 and has made only two appearances in the Premier League for the Blues so far.
However, it would be foolish of Newcastle if they pin all their hopes of scoring goals in the Premier League next season on Abraham.
