Leeds United’s Patrick Bamford has revealed that Gjanni Alioski ‘can’t wait’ to face Arsenal’s Nicolas Pepe again, after getting him sent off last time, on the official Leeds United Podcast.
Arsenal and Leeds are set to meet again on Sunday, and it will bring Alioski and Pepe back into direct competition.
The last time the two sides met Alioski wound Pepe up so much, that he head-butted the Leeds defender in the second half.
Mikel Arteta was very critical of Arsenal’s record signing after that game.
And Alioski has suggested that he may well be trying to get inside the Ivorian’s head again this Sunday.
“Do you know what? He said in the changing room, I can’t wait for Sunday. I was like ‘why?’. He said ‘because I’m playing against my mate Pepe again’,” Bamford laughed.

Pepe has fought his way back into contention at Arsenal since that moment and is enjoying his best run of form.
He may also be relieved that he looks set to play down the opposite flank to Alioski, if he does start against Leeds.
Pepe has been deployed down the left by Arsenal recently, which should keep him away from the Leeds left-back.
