Leeds United have a huge game with Sheffield Wednesday this evening.
Patrick Bamford has encouraged Leeds United fans to ‘keep it together’ during tonight’s visit of Sheffield Wednesday.
Leeds welcome the Owls to Elland Road in the first of five must-win games left for Marcelo Bielsa’s side this season.
As things stand, the Whites are second in the Championship but if Wednesday’s cross-city rivals Sheffield United beat Millwall at home in a 3pm kickoff then Bielsa’s troops will need to beat Steve Bruce’s side to reclaim the automatic promotion spot.
With Sheffield Wednesday losing one of their 13 games under Bruce, it promises to be a very difficult game for Leeds, but Bamford, a £7 million signing last summer [The Daily Mail], has a message fans via The Yorkshire Evening Post.
Asked if he had a message for the United supporters, the 25-year-old said: “The fans have been fantastic, in terms of the away support and the home support.
“Just keep it together, try and enjoy the situation if you can and ride the wave.”
Bamford scored twice in Leeds’ 2-0 win at Preston in midweek and with Kemar Roofe still not 100 percent, the pressure will be on him to provide the goals again tonight.
