Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa has suggested to Leeds Live that he does not know when Patrick Bamford will play again.
Bielsa has said that Bamford will certainly not play for Leeds against Southampton in the Premier League this weekend.
The England international striker suffered an ankle injury against Newcastle United almost a month ago.
The 28-year-old has missed Leeds’s last two Premier League games.
Bielsa told Leeds Live about Bamford: “Bamford won’t play and Kalvin has chances of being able to do so.”
The Leeds boss added about the striker: “He has a problem in his ankle which we informed previously. His recovery is subject to the evolution of the injury.
“I anticipated a date [for him to return], it wouldn’t be because I have arguments to do so. The evolution we have to control is on a day-to-day.”

Worrying for Leeds United fans?
Players do miss games over the course of a season due to injuries.
That is very common.
However, it is worrying that Bielsa does not know when Bamford will be back.
Now, of course, the medics and Bamford are working hard behind the scenes.

However, we cannot ignore the fact that the former Chelsea and Nottingham player is the main goalscorer for Leeds.
Leeds need Bamford to be successful this season.
The 28-year-old has scored one goal and given two assists in the Premier League so far this season.
The striker scored 17 goals and gave seven assists in the league for Leeds last season.
Leeds fans will hope that Bamford will be back in action soon, although many, like former Whites striker Noel Whelan, will be worried that he could be on the sidelines for a while.
