Patrick Bamford joined Leeds United last summer.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side have started pre-season training, and Bamford has had his say on how he feels.
The 25-year-old forward did not have a full pre-season with Leeds last summer, as the former Chelsea and Nottingham Forest joined the West Yorkshire outfit in August 2018 for a transfer fee reported by Sky Sports to be worth £7 million.
Bamford has given his take on his first pre-season with Leeds, and he seems tired already.
Leeds Live quotes Bamford as saying: “The legs are heavy, very heavy. It’s always nice to be back, but it’s been difficult. All the same it’s been enjoyable I guess.
“To be honest, the first day when we did the yo-yo test. I know that’s pretty standard for most clubs. But then more running followed and when you get back in bed after that first night, you realise ‘we’ve started again’.”
Bamford added: “Last year I was at Middlesbrough with Pulis and he did it differently. We went running up mountains.
“When I joined [Leeds] last year, I’d had five weeks of pre-season and did the yo-yo when I arrived.
“This year I did the yo-yo first day with no pre-season and I beat it this year, so different things work different ways.”

Stats
Bamford is a very good forward, but the former Middlesbrough man struggled with injuries last season.
According to WhoScored, the 25-year-old made 16 starts and seven substitute appearances in the Championship for Leeds in 2018-19, scoring nine goals and providing two assists in the process.
Leeds will be aiming to finish in the top two of the Championship table next season.
