Samu Saiz has enjoyed a fast-and-furious start to the season for Leeds United.
Patrick Bamford has told The Yorkshire Evening Post that he believes team-mate Samu Saiz has the ‘wow-factor’ needed to help him succeed at Leeds United.
Bamford, a £7 million signing from Middlesbrough, got off the mark for Leeds on Tuesday by scoring in the 2-1 win over Bolton Wanderers in the first round of the League Cup.
Saiz had a big role in the 24-year-old striker’s opener and the Spanish maestro went on to score himself to make it 2-0 on 35 minutes.
The 27-year-old has looked in irresistible form so far this season after superb performances against Stoke and Derby in the Championship.
And as a centre-forward, Bamford is thrilled to have such a talented number 10 pulling the strings behind him.
“After watching the two games this season, I saw how well Samuel played. I thought ‘you know what? He’s the kind of guy who can create a lot of chances for me’,” he The Yorkshire Evening Post.
“He’s the sort of player who shows a wow-factor at times. It was important for me to try and create that bond with him and especially in the first half I think we played well together.
“We created a lot of chances. It was a joy to play with him.”
The Whites host Rotherham United in a Yorkshire derby at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon, but it will be interesting to see if Bielsa gives Bamford a full Championship debut for United.
The former Chelsea youth has started on the bench in each of Leeds’ first two league games and the Argentine coach might be reluctant to tinker with an attack that has yielded seven goals.
