Leeds United forward Patrick Bamford has spoken highly of Wolverhampton Wanderers-owned winger Helder Costa, as quoted in The Yorkshire Evening Post.

Championship club Leeds have signed Costa from Premier League outfit Wolves in the summer transfer window on a season-long loan deal.

As reported by The Sun, the deal will be made permanent in the summer of 2020 for a transfer fee of £15 million.

Bamford – who joined the Whites from Middlesbrough in the summer of 2018 for a transfer fee reported by The Yorkshire Evening Post to be worth £7 million – has raved about the 25-year-old.

The 25-year-old former Nottingham Forest and Middlesbrough forward has also praised Leeds fans.

Bamford told The Yorkshire Evening Post about Costa: “It’s the same when any new player comes in, the gaffer wants them to get into his system, bed in a little bit and get used to how he wants them to play.

“It was the same when I came in, it took me six weeks to get into it and then I got injured obviously.

“It’ll be the same with all of them and you can tell already, whilst he’s bedding in, he’s a top player, he’s got some serious quality and he’ll make a difference.”

The forward added: “I think the fans on the whole have been great, I can’t complain. I think they’re just as excited as we are. I’m sure they can’t wait for Sunday.”
