West Ham United are reportedly interested in signing Patrice Evra on a free transfer.

West Ham United look set to sign Patrice Evra on a free transfer. According to The Daily Mail, the Hammers are in talks to secure the services of the former Manchester United left-back, who is reported to have visited the London club’s training ground on Tuesday.
Evra knows English football inside out and is one of the best left-backs to have played for United in the Premier League era.
The former France international also has respect and admiration for West Ham, as the following comments about Dimitri Payet show.

Back in June 2016 during the 2016 European Championship in France, Evra thanked West Ham for the development of Payet
The 30-year-old France international, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, was on the books of the Hammers at the time and had taken the Premier League by storm during the 2015-16 season.
Evra told The Daily Mail on June 11, 2016 following France’s 2-1 victory over Romania in which Payet had scored the stunning winner: “It was amazing but I think you have to say thanks to West Ham because he went to the Premier League, where it is a different game.
“You can see now that he takes responsibility. When he has to shoot, he shoots and he has scored some great goals.”

Payet returned to Marseille in January 2017, with West Ham getting paid £25 million in transfer fees for the Frenchman, according to The Telegraph.
West Ham fans will surely be pleased to know that Evra acknowledged the contribution of the club to the development of Payet.
