Patrice Evra has become West Ham United’s latest signing after agreeing a deal until the end of the season.
The transfer window may have closed a week ago, but Evra has just become the Irons’ latest signing, with the club confirming that the Premier League great has signed a new deal until the end of the season.
With David Moyes’ men on the periphery of a relegation battle in the top flight, the manager will no doubt want the left-back to hit the ground running following his arrival. And what will undoubtedly help that is the new signing getting on with his teammates.
It certainly appears that Evra will have little problem adjusting to his new surroundings as he explained that he is aware of most of the squad, and then shared the light-hearted question he asked Noble when he met the skipper.
“I want to share my happiness and my work ethic. They know how professional I am. I am someone who likes to have fun but when it is time to work, I don’t like to laugh too much.
“They gave me a nice welcome but even if I don’t know them, for example I have played a lot times against Mark Noble, when he saw me he was happy and I really happy and was like ‘Are you still running everywhere? How long have you been here?’ and he said ’20 years!’ so it’s everyone!”
After five games without a win in all competitions, the Hammers will be hoping that they will be able to get back to winning ways when they take on Watford at the London Stadium on Saturday. And, if given the chance to make his debut, Evra will be targeting proving that he still has a lot to contribute before his career comes to an end.
