West Ham United announced the signing of Patrice Evra on a free transfer today.

Hammers new-boy Patrice Evra has been handed the number 27 shirt at West Ham, the number previously worn by hate-figure Dimitri Payet.
West Ham completed the free signing of the former Manchester United and Juventus man today, with David Moyes looking to bolster his defensive ranks.

Evra, 36, was a top-class performer in his day, but there are question marks hanging over his head as to whether he is still good enough to compete in the Premier League, what with its’ highly intense nature.
He is another body, at the very least, and that cannot be understated, what with the current spate of injuries at the club.
Evra will wear the number 27 shirt at West Ham, the number previously worn by Dimtri Payet, who left the club for Marseille acrimoniously in January 2017, after refusing to train with the team.

The former Hammer is now a hate-figure in east London and Evra will be hoping that he doesn’t go down the same route as his fellow countryman.
