Tottenham Hotspur are currently sitting seventh in the Premier League table – five points off the top-four places.

Patrice Evra has blasted the perception that Tottenham have a chance of winning the Premier League title at the start of every season.
The former Premier League defender claimed that Spurs are an ‘exciting team’, but he has never perceived them as winners.
Since losing the Champions League final in June, Mauricio Pochettino’s side have continued to fall with no sign that they are to stop in their current ways.
Speaking to Monday Night Football on Sky Sports Premier League (21/10/19 at 7:10 pm), Evra shared his thoughts on Tottenham’s recent decline.
“I think something is broke,” Evra told Sky Sports. “I think many players are out-of-contract in the summer and this is affecting the team. Physiologically they are bad. You can see one of their best players, Eriksen, I just feel like something is wrong.
“They have reached their limits. I always think of Tottenham as an exciting team to watch, but not as a winner. Every year people think Tottenham get the chance to win the title. I don’t think they have the players to win the title – they went to the final of the Champions League, they must be really disappointed not to win it and mentally you get affected by that.
“Pochettino is a great manager, but sometimes you need a big change or some extra quality players, and maybe Pochettino asked that and he didn’t get them. They have to rebuild the team. It’s been six years that they have been playing together. The problem is when it’s a long period that you have been playing together, and you don’t win something, mentally it’s really difficult to recover after that.”

Whilst there is a need to freshen up Tottenham’s squad, what happens from now until the next transfer window is very crucial.
Spurs still need to progress through to the knockout stages and finish in the Premier League top-four – something which they have been doing on a regular basis since Pochettino walked through the doors.
But if their current form continues then they may face an early exit from Europe and seriously harm their chances of finishing in the top-four.
