Arsenal currently have no plans to loan playmaker Charlie Patino out in January as they look to replicate the rise of Bukayo Saka.
That’s according to goal.com’s Arsenal correspondent Charles Watts, who has made the claim on YouTube.
Patino wasn’t named in the Arsenal squad to face AFC Wimbledon on Wednesday night.
Fans were hoping to see the teenager in action, but Mikel Arteta decided to leave him out of the squad.
Patino won’t be going in January
Some wonder whether Patino will be loaned out for first-team football in January.
Eddie Nketiah, Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Jack Wilshere all went out on loan to further their development.
Conversely, Bukayo Saka stayed at Arsenal and was promoted through the ranks without a loan move.
According to Watts, that’s exactly what Arsenal hope for Patino too.
“Arsenal really really rate Patino,” said Watts. “As it stands, he’s not really earmarked as one to potentially go out on loan, he’s more to follow the Bukayo Saka path in pretty much going straight into the first team – that’s the plan for Patino as it stands.”

Patino likely to extend Arsenal stay
Watts added that Patino looks likely to sign a new deal with Arsenal.
It’s claimed that people around Patino are ‘delighted’ with the progression of the teenager.
Patino is ‘very, very happy’ at Arsenal, and simply doesn’t want to leave any time soon.
“Charlie Patino, as far as I’m aware… sources close to him are absolutely delighted with the way his progress is being managed so far. He’s very, very happy at Arsenal, he doesn’t want to leave, so I can’t see any sort of problems with him signing a new contract,” he added.
