Leeds United have suffered yet another injury setback with Dan James now out with a muscle injury picked up against Manchester City on Tuesday.
According to the Telegraph, the Welsh international joins an ever-growing injury list featuring the likes of Rodrigo, Patrick Bamford and Kalvin Phillips. Leeds were smashed 7-0 against City this week, with James coming off with a muscle problem.
The festive schedule has come at the worst possible time for Leeds, with James now on the injury table along with multiple important first-team players. The Yorkshire giants face Arsenal on Saturday in what is now a must-win game for the club.
Marcelo Bielsa signed James in the summer for a reported fee of £24m according to the Guardian, yet the attacker is yet to really find his feet with the former Manchester United winger scoring just once and assisting twice for Leeds in the Premier League.
Indeed, despite this poor form, James was one of the few attackers fully fit heading into Tuesday’s game against City. However, the former Swansea City star is now out on the injury table.
With the likes of Robin Koch and Pascal Struijk also injured, Leeds have a crisis that will hamper their odds on picking up points during the festive season. The Whites sit just five points above the drop zone, and these squad problems could cause some major issues.
