Everton fans have taken to Twitter in disbelief after some footage emerged of Michael Keane following last night’s 3-1 defeat to Manchester City.
The clip in question is of Bernardo Silva’s goal in the 77th minute, which was the Citizens’ third and final strike at Goodison Park yesterday.
Worryingly, the footage shows Keane’s actions during the build-up, and they don’t reflect well on the £25 million man.
The England international can be seen just standing still as Bernardo Silva drops a shoulder, knocks the ball past him and smashes it beyond Jordan Pickford.
It is statuesque defending from the former Manchester United defender.

He barely moves a muscle, nor does he move towards the ball in an attempt to close the Portugal international down.
However, if we’re being fair, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Pickford are also at fault for the goal.
Sigurdsson is closest to Bernardo Silva when he receives the ball, but is on the wrong side of the City No.20, and can’t press him effectively as a result.

The shot is also quite close to Pickford.
The ex-Sunderland man even gets a hand to it, so you could argue that he should do better.
Nevertheless, let’s see what the Everton fans on Twitter have been saying about Keane’s actions in the 77th minute…
