Pat Nevin has said on BBC Radio 5 Live (5pm, October 17, 2021) that Newcastle United will offload Joelinton in a couple of years’ time.
Nevin made the comments while watching Joelinton in action for Newcastle against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
The former Chelsea winger was on co-commentary duty for the Premier League match at St. James’ Park for BBC Radio 5 Live.
Newcastle lost 3-2 to Tottenham.
Nevin said about Joelinton: “In a technical sense at this level, let’s just say in a couple of years’ time, I don’t think he will be playing for Newcastle.”
Joelinton’s Newcastle future
Joelinton has struggled at Newcastle to score goals or create chances.
The 25-year-old Brazilian forward has been played centrally or out wide.
The attacker has scored six goals in 77 Premier League appearances for Newcastle so far in his career.

In our view, that is not good enough.
Newcastle have new owners now.
Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) are likely to bring in quality players in the coming transfer windows.

We think that Joelinton could face the axe.
Yes, Newcastle paid £40 million for the Brazilian, but PIF will probably accept selling him for a lower fee.
It would at least save money on the forward’s salary.
In our view, Joelinton has to really step up his game in the coming weeks and months to have a long-term future at Newcastle.
