Arsenal beat Sunderland 4-1 at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Pat Nevin has claimed that Arsenal are playing the best football in the Premier League at present.

The Gunners were in fine form on Saturday afternoon as they thrashed Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

Two goals apiece from Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud saw them to a 4-1 win and temporarily top of the Premier League in their own right.

In truth, they could have won the game by a bigger margin given that they enjoyed 66% of the possession overall and registered 21 shots in total.

Nonetheless, it was an impressive display and Nevin claims they are arguably playing the most attractive football in the league at present.

“I suspect at the moment Arsenal are arguably playing the best football in the league,” he told BBC Sport.

“But it’s a long season, and the only question mark over them today has been about them having the right mindset, and for 20 minutes today they weren’t good enough.

“They always say that there are no easy games in the Premier League – yeah there is, Arsenal have had one today.”

It is now up to Arsenal to maintain this current run of form and go one better than their second-placed finish last year.

This win was their ninth in their last 10 games in all competitions, and their seventh in their last eight league games.

That is impressive form, to say the least, but they will not be getting carried away just yet given the manner in which they handed the title to Leicester City last season.
