Crystal Palace registered their first win of the Premier League on Saturday.

Crystal Palace registered their first victory of the season after beating Chelsea 2-1 at Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon.
Palace had lost all of their seven previous Premier League games, and had even failed to score. Therefore, very few had expected them to pick up all points against the Blues.

Roy Hodgson’s side took the lead in the 11th minute when Yohan Cabaye’s effort went into the back of the net taking a deflection off Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta.
Summer signing Tiemoue Bakayoko quickly restored parity when he headed in from Cesc Fabregas’s corner.
Wilfried Zaha, who made a return from injury, scored just before the break. Chelsea pushed hard for an equalizer but the Palace defence stayed resolute.

Former West Ham player turned football pundit Daniel Gabbidon took to social networking site Twitter to express his opinion. He wrote:
Former Chelsea player Pat Nevin also praised the work rate of the Crystal Palace players throughout the game.
He also added that if Palace can show this type of spirit for the rest of the season, they will not have any problems staying in the league.
“Fantastic from Palace! Their workrate was unbelievable all the way through the game,” said Nevin to BBC Radio 5 (14th October; 16:57).
“The noise here is off the scale – you’d think they’d won the league rather than won their first game in the league! Show half of this spirit for the rest of the season and Crystal Palace won’t have any problems staying in this league.”
