Pat McAfee could not hide his disbelief after NFL stars were outplayed by the USA flag football team, questioning how the matchup unfolded so one-sided.

The Fanatics Flag Football Classic was meant to showcase crossover talent, but it quickly turned into a reality check.

Instead of a close contest, it exposed a clear gap between specialists and traditional football stars.

Pat McAfee stunned as NFL stars get exposed by flag football specialists

McAfee reacted to the games after watching NFL players struggle against the USA flag football team.

“The boys were bamboozled. I don’t think the NFL guys, retired or currently playing, had any idea that these guys had the whoop-de-whoop moves.

“Did the boys know that that was who they were playing?” McAfee asked.

The reaction captured the shock around the result, especially given the star power on the NFL side.

It also highlighted how underestimated the flag football format remains among traditional players.

Team USA dominates NFL players in Fanatics Flag Football Classic

Team USA delivered a perfect 3-0 run at the Fanatics Flag Football Classic, defeating teams led by Joe Burrow and Tom Brady with convincing scorelines including 39-16, 43-16, and 24-14.

“Did Joe Burrow know that he was going to be playing against the greatest flag football team of all time? These flaggers knew that they would cook these NFL guys,” McAfee continued.

He concluded, stating: “Did all the boys know that they were running into a juggernaut of flag football talent? I don’t think they did. And if they agreed to put that on TV… I’m just confused by it all.”

The USA side, made up of experienced flag football players, controlled games through speed, spacing and technical precision that NFL players struggled to match.

Even elite names like Burrow, Brady, and Hurts were unable to adapt quickly enough to the format, with rules and movement patterns proving decisive.

In the end, the event underlined a clear reality: flag football at the highest level is a specialized sport, not a simplified version of the NFL game.
