Pat Bonner was not impressed with the performance of Scott Sinclair for Celtic in the first half of the Scottish Premiership game against Hibernian at the weekend, as quoted on BBC Sport.

Sinclair featured for Brendan Rodgers’s side in the match against Hibernian away from home at Easter Road on Sunday afternoon.

Former Celtic goalkeeper Bonner was following the match, and he made it clear at half time that he was not impressed with the way the 28-year-old winger played in the first half.

“I think Sinclair is off the boil – his decision making and movement off the ball,” Bonner told BBC Sport at half time (13:30).

“Brown has gone deeper because, if he moves forward, he knows McGinn is going to be on him, and Celtic having to start deeper than they normally do is making it more difficult for Sinclair to be involved.”

Sinclair did not have a good first half and has actually not been at his best so far this season.

The former Chelsea and Manchester City winger, though, stepped up in the second half and scored both the goals for Celtic against Hibernian.

The 28-year-old scored the first goal on 59 minutes and added the second in the 64th minute.

Meanwhile, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has outlined what changed when his side were 2-0 up.

“We stopped passing the ball at 2-0, maybe we felt like we could go on and get more comfort in the game,” Rodgers told BBC Sport (14:53).

“It was nothing really that Hibs done in the game, it was more that we stopped playing, passing, and went a bit longer on it. When it goes forward like that it always comes back that bit quicker.”
