Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is reportedly on the radar of Leicester City.
Leicester are on the lookout for a new manager following the departure of Claude Puel.
According to BBC Sport, Rodgers’s name has been whispered behind the scenes at Leicester for months, and the former Liverpool boss is reported to be the prime candidate for the managerial role at the King Power Stadium.
Legendary Celtic and former Republic of Ireland international goalkeeper Bonner has suggested that Rodgers will be interested in the Leicester managerial role.
Bonner told BBC Sport: “Any manager, Brendan Rodgers included, would be interested in that type of job. It takes you back into the Premier League, it’s well paid and they have the capabilities of challenging for Europe.
“Whether he would give up this job for it is the big question. He’s well paid also, he’s in Europe also, he’s winning trophies, he’s a God as far the fans are concerned. Ten in a row is sitting there for him.”
Leaving Celtic
Celtic are a massive club, but Rodgers has done all he could do at Celtic Park; there is nothing more the former Liverpool boss can achieve at the Hoops.
True, Leicester are not a heavyweight in the Premier League, but the Foxes are an established club in the top flight of English football.
Rodgers has been a success in the Premier League, and he will be a good managerial appointment for Leicester, who won the league title not too long ago.
